Image Metrics, the animation company the produced the animation for the Grand Theft Auto computer game, has made a great leap forward in producing “lifelike” animated human features with “Emily.” Their technology enables the most minute details of facial expressions. Read more here.
This technology will probably be used first in films and video but it will be certain to have a quick online application thru virtual attendants, avatars and salespersons to put the “human” back into this two dimensional online world of text, image, light and sounds.
