Want to See Your Future? Storyboard it!

How do you envision your future?

Do you use strategic planning? Getting Things Done? Do you follow the principles of “The Secret” or leave yourself Post-It notes?

One way to achieving your future goals or even changing your future life position is to storyboard it or to create a vision board.

Technical Writer Avi Solomon presents a creative perspective to visualize one’s future into reality through storyboarding. The storyboard got its start in scripting  story lines in comic books and is widely used to depict a conceptual development like movie stories or advertisement commercials.

Much like a vision board presents a collage of imagery of a projected future outcome, a storyboard is used to form a pictoral narrative in sketching or drawing the possible outcomes you want to achieve in your life.

Anyone can create a storyboard with the intention of changing their future life position or situation focusing on desired visual imagery. With storyboarding, Solomon focus on the Pareto Principle, the 80/20 rule, suggesting we focus on the 20% of the meaningful events in one’s life. Read more on “Storyboard Your Life.”
