Twitter reaches 600 tweets per second: 50MM per Day!

Twitter has grown at an astonishing annual rate of over 1,000 percent each year from 2008-2010.

The social network’s short messaging service now post (or boasts) a whopping 600 messages per second. That’s 50MM messages per day.

Social Media Search for Real Time Results

50 million daily tweets coupled with an annual growth rate over 1000% (Twitter) is a lot of social cheddar for businesses, not to mention for Twitter.

Google and Bing and other search companies get it. They are indexing this real time social information in their results.

The real question is how are major corporations and small businesses adapting their marketing strategies towards these social media channels?
