The Independent

WordPress, the blog publishing platform now powers The Independent, the UKs.

The Independent switched all its blogs on blogs.independent.co.uk from LiveJournal to WordPress. The switch now empowers the news journal offer a more customization to journalist and readers, and to “raise standards” improving the standard of comments by introducing the Disqus system.

To help people reading blogs to get their news on time, WordPress advances a web 2.0 “push” technology RSS Cloud.Wordpress logo

“Today we turned on support for all 7.5 million blogs on WordPress.com something called RSS Cloud, which is basically a way for people to get push notification that your feed has updated.”

The RSS Cloud service affects only blog posts from blogs using WordPress blog platform.
