60 Minutes Goes Social with YouTube Media Channel Partnership

Solicits viewer video feedback on program stories.

“Ask 60 Minutes”

Looking to “start a conversation,” broadcast media program “60 Minutes” makes its move to embrace social media and user-generated content via a new YouTube Channel and partnership called “Ask ’60 Minutes'”. The new channel opens up the news giant to user feedback where you can engage directly with “60 minutes” correspondents. If lucky enough, they will post your video on their show.

Surely may not be as ground breaking as Rocketboom, but will user-generated content change the way broadcast news generates and produces newsworthy content? And more importantly, in our desire to consume it?

I guess we’ll have to tune in to watch the story unfold.

How social are you? Medvedev has 77000 Twitter Followers

Dmitry Medvedev and Steve Jobs iPhone gift via APWeb 2.0 Chic: Russia’s Medvedev and Apple’s Steve Jobs gawk at the iPhone 4

Techno savvy? Web 2.0 chic?

Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev recently hit over 77,000 Twitter followers in both English and Russian versions of the social networking site. A slow start in comparison to President Obama’s launch of the whitehouse Twitter channel, but nonetheless significant.

After his June 23 visit to Silicon valley, the Russian head of state has made quite a splash with his social networking.

But wait. There’s more. Hoping to inspire more Russians with our Western techno driven culture in connectivity,  Medvedev also blogs on Livejournal.
